High Plains Arboretum Fall Foliage Walk - High Plains Arboretum

October 4 | 1:00 - 2:30 | $10

Take in the beauty of fall foliage at one of the best local sites for leaf peeping – the High Plains Arboretum! Horticulturist and High Plains Arboretum author Jessica Friis and Director Scott Aker will lead a tour of the trees that exhibit the best fall foliage and explain the science behind the changes in color. This walk is $10.00 and pre-registration is required. Please meet at the parking area of the High Plains Arboretum, directions are below:

Directions from I-80

Exit at Roundtop Road, and turn north. Cross Happy Jack Road.

Enter at the flagstone entry (left side of the road) onto Hildreth Rd.

At the first fork, look for the “High Plains Arboretum” sign to the left and veer in that direction.

Park at the parking signs on the right. DO NOT block the road. The Arboretum is south of this road (to the left).

We will have something for everyone in the family, from crafts and games, to educational talks from museum staff!

Downtown Stained Glass Tour - First United Methodist Church

The trolley will take you around to see beautiful stained glass at four churches in Downtown Cheyenne. Churches include First United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, and St. Mary's Cathedral. Trolley will pick up at First United Methodist Church to start the tour. 

Hike for Hunger - Hynds Lodge

Hike for Hunger is an outdoor adventure event that raises awareness of hunger and food insecurity in Wyoming. Hike for Hunger will be held at Hynds Lodge & Amphitheatre, and it features outdoor fun, food, live music, and more for the whole family! This event includes two guided hikes through the beautiful trails of the Medicine Bow National Forest on a 1/2 mile loop trail called the Beaver Creek Trail. There is also fall family photos next to the aspen groves. Help support multiple Hunger Hero nonprofits by bringing nonperishable food items and hygiene products for food pantries in Laramie and Albany County.
