Don't Miss The Arts and Aviation Center Open House

On Saturday, September 9th, 2023 the Arts and Aviation Center will be celebrating the completion of the historic airport fountain restoration, and will be hosting an open house at the historic airport terminal. The open house will take place from 10:00am to 2:00pm, and offers an opportunity to engage Cheyenne citizens on ideas for the future of the terminal while learning about Cheyenne’s rich aviation history. This fun event will include an Airport Fountain dedication, food trucks, terminal tours, and more!

In 2022, the Cheyenne Regional Airport Board Manager and Arts Cheyenne staff began discussing a potential partnership regarding the future of the former historic airport terminal. Those discussions led to some ‘what if’s?’ and Arts Cheyenne applied for a NEA Our Town Grant just to see what might happen… they got the grant!

The NEA Our Town Grant is a design grant, intended to provide the funds to update several studies, and to understand the feasibility of redeveloping the former Airport Terminal into a potential Arts and Culture center. The partnership between the Cheyenne Regional Airport and Arts Cheyenne is a natural, positive relationship to explore how to save and preserve such a beautiful structure.
