There is still time to donate books for the 2026 DKG Upsilon Used Book Sale!
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is a professional honorary organization for women educators founded in 1929. Its mission is to promote the professional growth of women educators (teachers, professors, administrators, librarians) and advancing education worldwide.
The Cheyenne chapter has been running their annual used book sale since 1983, starting with six tables in Frontier Mall. At that time, they made $600 which was distributed as scholarships to students pursuing education related degrees and to teachers for professional development.
In the first 24 years, over $100,000 in scholarships were awarded.
Since then, their impact has only grown, expanding scholarship awards, strengthening professional development opportunities, and continuing to invest in the future of education in our community year after year. This year’s sale returns to Frontier Mall in the former JoAnn Fabrics location and will run for two consecutive weekends: March 7–8 and March 14–15.
If you’ve never attended, prepare to be amazed — not only by the incredible quality and volume of books available, but by the way our community shows up to support education.
Book donations are still being accepted through March 1 at collection sites around town, including North Side Beach Please, The Picklr, Safeway, North Side Albertsons, Gold’s Gym, and Sprouts. For very large donations, please call 630-3682 or 421-1755.
For more than four decades, this sale has turned donated books into scholarships and opportunity. That’s the kind of quiet, consistent impact that builds a stronger community.
