Cheyenne Partnership Helps Celebrate Earth Day With Free Trees

To help celebrate Earth Day, which is April 22, 2020, Black Hills Energy and the Arbor Day Foundation is teaming up to give away more than 1,000 trees to the citizens of Cheyenne. Starting Wednesday, April 22, customers can claim a tree at arborday.org/blackhillsenergy. The trees will be given on a first-come, first-served basis, and will be delivered to customers for spring planting from May through early June. The trees will be 3-4 foot dormant trees, and will be small enough for easy planting.

"Our world is hurting right now," said Mark Stege, Black Hills Energy’s Vice President of Operations for Wyoming. "We feel like we have an opportunity to give our customers a small way to help it heal."

Black Hills Energy and the Arbor Day Foundation have been teaming up to provide free trees to Cheyenne since 2014, and since then nearly 6,700 trees have been planted through this partnership.
