For the third consecutive year, volunteers from the Cheyenne Board of REALTORS® have joined forces with #ForMak to ensure the safety of our children as they return to school. These dedicated volunteers stand in school zones, holding signs to remind drivers to slow down and be vigilant.

#ForMak was founded in memory of Makaili "Mak" Evans, a charismatic 13-year-old who tragically lost his life in 2021 after being hit by a distracted driver while crossing a street to school. Mak was a vibrant and kind-hearted kid known for his leadership qualities, humor, and ability to make others feel important.

The #ForMak nonprofit organization, inspired by Mak's life, works tirelessly to improve pedestrian safety in Cheyenne, particularly around school zones. Their efforts include raising funds to update the Wyoming Safe Routes to School Program, which aims to enhance school route safety through audits, education, and the installation of safety upgrades like pedestrian-activated flashers.

The partnership between the Cheyenne Board of REALTORS® and #ForMak is a powerful example of community members coming together to honor Mak’s legacy by making our streets safer for all children.
