A Little Heat, A Lot of Heart: #1 Properties Gears Up for the Boys & Girls Club Chili Challenge
Green chili, white chili, or red chili? You’ll have to stop by our booth to find out!
This Friday, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Wyoming will host their 16th annual Chili Challenge, and once again, the agents and staff at #1 Properties are proud to be part of the fun. Our team is already hard at work chopping, stirring, taste-testing, and planning as we get ready to serve up our chili and join dozens of other local teams in one of our favorite community traditions.

This year’s theme, “The Magical World of Chili,” leans into childhood nostalgia—movies, shows, and stories many of us grew up with.To bring that theme to life, the event will feature Inspector Magic, princess meet-and-greets, and even a large inflatable art piece designed by Cassie Hoover, Director of Resource Development for the Boys & Girls Club.
For younger kids, there will be craft stations to make swords and shields, Moana-themed activities, teacup building, face painting, and balloon animals. And for those who may not be chili fans, Queso’s Kitchen will be serving additional food options.
This year, around 21 teams will be participating, each bringing up to three chilis and decorating their booths to match the theme. Awards will be given for People’s Choice, best green, white, and red chili (as selected by judges), and Best Booth Decor.
The judging process itself is thoughtful and intentional. Chilis are evaluated on smell, taste, balance, and texture, with judges working in teams of three for each chili category.
To come judge the chili for yourself, grab your tickets from the Boys & Girls Club website. The event will take place from 5:00-9:00 PM at the Event Center at Archer.
Our #1 Properties team has been participating in the Chili Challenge for years, and every time, we walk away with new memories, new connections, and a deeper appreciation for the work the Boys & Girls Club does for kids and families in our area.
Whether you’re coming to sample the chili, enjoy the theme, support the Boys & Girls Club, or just soak in the atmosphere, we hope you’ll stop by, say hello, and share in what makes this event so special.
